God had simply knocked down the urban center walls to give them the victory.  And before the dust settled, they had given up on him. They had lost faith.  They had watched a fortress fall, an army quiver, and a kingdom crumble. God gave them the triumph, literally almost without a fight.  They barely had to lift a finger; they only raised their voices.

And so they rejected God's vocalization.  Having watched him conquer their fears, they did the one thing he told them not to practice. God's messenger said, "Keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction" (Joshua 6:xviii). Do not horde or indulge in the idols of Jericho, simply destroy them and then that they do non steal your heart away from God.

"But the people of Israel bankrupt religion in regard to the devoted things."

The Wall Before Them

The temptations were already in that location for some as they walked silently around Jericho for six days.  You can imagine them thinking, due westhy doesn't he just knock them down now?God had told them how their victory would happen, but seven days probably began to feel similar seven years while they walked and waited, walked and waited.

What God Said to Them

But God had said, "On the 7th solar day yous shall march effectually the city vii times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets...when you hear the audio of the trumpet, so all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down apartment, and the people shall go upwardly"  (Joshua vi:4–5).

What God Says to You

What walls do you want to come across come downwardly?  Information technology might be a hard or broken relationship with a family unit member or friend.  It might exist your boxing against a besetting sin.  It might be massive barriers in ministry.
