I thought this was great. I served it with the fresh lycopersicon esculentum and basil soup. I as well made these with turkey, and they were great! The only thing I would do differently, is have the meat out earier or warm it in the microwave. The few minutes of broiling was not plenty to warm the meat upwards all the way.

I gave this quick, easy, kid friendly, tasty recipe 5 stars!! This is very fast and tasty!! Like shooting fish in a barrel to make to your liken! The kids love it!! I fabricated ii varieties. For the adults I used leftover Tri-tip and garlic roasted cheese and for the kids I used cafeteria ham and American sliced cheese (thier favorite). We all loved this wonderful meal and nosotros are all stuffed! They are huge (depending on the size of Hoagie). Something fast and tasty is always welcome in my house! Especially when you can jazz it upward in so many ways!! Try it you'll like it!

Great idea for a quick yummy dinner... Best thing is you can make each sandwhich to each persons liking. Definately warm the meat in microwave before placing in oven. I used garlic butter spread on the hoggie rolls before adding the may/or mustard of choice. five stars for a quick great dinner

No hoagies so I used a quality whole wheat bread. I kept everything else the same. I did accept to increase the mayonnaise and mustard but that's e'er purely upward to the gustation of whoever's making the sandwich. My boys and I admittedly loved this sandwich. Everything went together wonderfully and it was a wonderful combination with chicken noodle soup on a cold, rainy day. YUM!
07/thirty/2005
Yummy Scrummy! We change out the meats and cheeses and it is ever a hit! My teenagers love Subway sandwiches (and so do I) but I don't love the prices, so this is a great alternative. We usually add shredded lettuce. Thanks :)
08/17/2005
This was wonderful! I was surprised how skilful it was since it has typical sandwich ingredients, only broiling it made all the difference! Nosotros volition definitely have this once again. And it was so quick too. Nosotros made this duriing the summer and used our BBQ instead of the broiler and then we didn't heat up the house.
07/18/2003
I'thou not even a huge fan of deli-sliced roast beef but this was pretty good! I used miracle whip and dijon mustard - mixed the two together in a small bowl before spreading on the hoagie buns. Also - I added some sliced onion, no tomato plant and colby jack cheese. I'm sure any deli meat would piece of work! Good and elementary lunch!
09/23/2006

08/24/2009
This was a very simple yet delicious sandwich to brand for a family unit of 6. My husband asked for them once again. I take made Mrs. Dash's garlic & herb mayonnaise and spread that on the toasted bread instead of the mayo/mustard combo, and that was succulent likewise.
01/28/2013
This was great! I did't utilize deli roast beef, I used leftover roast beef from the night before (see 'all american roast beef' recipe). I sliced information technology very thin. We added shredded iceberg lettuce afterwards the broiling.

A very piece of cake and quick weeknight dinner served with a garden salad. I used horseradish mustard for a little boot and would recommend broiling the sandwiches for a little longer than the 2-4 minutes, specially if all of your ingredients came straight from the fridge.
09/05/2005
I love this! It is so simple, you can use any combination of meat and cheese. It but takes minutes to brand.
ten/16/2012
I remember this is excellent for University students who may discover their toaster oven has a lot to offering. Buy your bun, your cafeteria meat, a piece of cheese of your choice, a squirt of mustard, a impact of mayo or sauce leftover from a take out and you got a repast. Cheap.
07/18/2003
I'chiliad not even a huge fan of deli-sliced roast beef simply this was pretty skillful! I used miracle whip and dijon mustard - mixed the two together in a pocket-size bowl before spreading on the hoagie buns. Likewise - I added some sliced onion, no love apple and colby jack cheese. I'm sure whatsoever deli meat would work! Proficient and unproblematic lunch!
07/xix/2005
This was so skilful and very like shooting fish in a barrel to make. It was fifty-fifty a striking with the kids! Information technology is now one of my most requested meals.
11/29/2004
This was a delicious sandwich. I always estimate a recipe on whether or not my husband eats any leftovers. I didn't have to offer information technology up twice. The combination of flavors is wonderful and information technology is and so piece of cake to put together. YUM!
06/27/2006
Tasty and like shooting fish in a barrel. I added garlic salt and onion to mine, and I also fabricated some Au Jus for dipping. Will make again!
08/07/2002
Very skillful, quick sandwiches. Like shooting fish in a barrel to prepare - I did everything in the toaster oven! Same annotate every bit below, I inverse meats and cheese for which ever the kids wanted.
x/17/2012
Desperately needs an au jus sauce or something else (like a brown mustard) to kick it upwards a notch. Otherwise it'south just another warmed up common cold cutting sandwich.
01/18/2003
Really bully combination taste
07/17/2012
Great little hot sandwich! I cut this downwardly to serve my son and I and it needed more mayo-tard dressing (as my kids telephone call it). Other than that, it was great and I'll make this once again, Fantastic recipe, thank you!

xi/22/2005
So amazing! I wasn't able to toast the buns first so I just put the whole sub in the oven at 350 for well-nigh 10-15 minutes...just watch the cheese. So I baked for a few minutes, but be careful as the buns will burn apace.
07/17/2008
These were delicious and easy. I was surprised how good they were since information technology took such little time to set up. I made an au jus for dipping but we didn't need it, information technology actually took away from the goodness of the sandwich. Will definitely exist making again. Succulent! Fifty-fifty improve with domicile-cooked rare roast beef instead of cafeteria, but I never seem to take enough of that left over for sandwiches! I don't like to toast the rolls because then it seems dry, I just put them nether the broiler solitary briefly before adding the sandwich ingredients.
11/28/2012
Very good and Very easy I read the reviews and jazzed up the mayo with some horseradish but other then that left information technology every bit is The Fam Loved Information technology!
05/12/2006
Yummy!
ten/29/2004
These were really cracking, simple sandwiches. I would propose warming them in the oven for 5-10 minutes BEFORE broiling-ours had melty cheese, but weren't all that warm.
05/30/2004
This sandwich was outstanding, and very easy to brand. The only thing I did differently was to add a bit of olive oil and vinegar on pinnacle of the tomato, and to put the onions on top of the cheese-- the broiler carmelizes them. This, and variations of it, volition become a part of our regular rotation on those "I don't feel like cooking" nights. Thanks for sharing!
x/04/2006
Tasty sandwich! Used with some Peppercini Beef and Chipotle Mayo recipes, both from this site. Added sliced peppercini peppers, sliced avocado and olives equally well with the tomato and onion. After broiling I topped with shredded lettuce. Delicious...and filling! Thanks!

02/26/2007
I did change this a scrap, based on the ingredients I had on hand, but stayed truthful to the full general thought, and information technology was delicious. I doubled the recipe, used chopped leftover roast beef, onion powder instead of onion, shredded cheddar cheese, added garlic powder and dill weed, and no tomatoes; I mixed it into a spread for sliced Sourdough Bread (as well from this site). I toasted the other side start, then put the spread on and baked till information technology was bubbles. 01/30/2008
Recipe was easy. I made them for my family as a quick meal before my son had to play trombone at a concert. i did modify the meat from a cafeteria roast beef to some thin sliced round steak just kept everything else the same. Next fourth dimension I might utilize a different blazon of cheese and peradventure spice up the veggies a bit.

02/26/2005
I didn't have rolls so I used english toasting bread. I toasted in my toaster because I don't accept a toaster oven. I heated upward the roast beefiness slices in a skillet before assembling and used shredded (4) cheese mixture considering i didn't have provolone. I also omitted the onion because i didn't accept that either. With everything I DIDN'T take, this sandwich even so came out GREAT!! Thanks!!
02/nineteen/2009

Will definitely make once more!
10/18/2012
I have made this several times, but, instead of heating upwardly the house with the oven on my stove, I do it in my toaster oven. comes out great every time
03/07/2015
Likewise funny. I simply made this today EXACTLY without ever seeing this recipe. How odd. I was only at present trying to look upwardly what else I could exercise with my leftover roast beef I had after making my open faced sub and saw a moving-picture show of this recipe and clicked on information technology because it looked similar what I had just made on a whim. The but problem I had was that I wasn't able to toast the hoagies in my fiddling toaster, only that didn't seem to bear upon the quality at all. I'll be sure to make this i again.
12/eighteen/2018
First-class with minor changes. I didn't have Grainy mustard and so I just used regular Dijon. I caramelized the onions. I followed the rest but after broiling I topped it with the toasted pinnacle one-half of the bun. Something nearly property a sammie rather than using a knife and fork makes information technology seem to taste better!
07/09/2004
